  • Earring hooks
  • Gold chain (for the necklace)
  • Chain extender
  • Jump ring
  • Beading needle (optional but recommended for precision)
  • Jewelry pliers (for adding the clasp and hooks)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Your Materials

Before you begin, lay out all the materials in front of you. Make sure your beads are organized, your chain is cut to the desired length, and you have enough thread for weaving. For this project, you'll be doing a simple beading pattern, which is ideal for beginners.

Step 2: Start Creating the Necklace

  1. Thread the Needle: Cut a comfortable length of beading thread and thread your needle. For this necklace we used 100 cm of 6lb 0.15mm beading thread.

  2. Weave the First Bead Row: Start with 4pcs of 4mm White Pearl Beads and tie a knot to secure them in place. Push the needle through the next 4mm pearl bead and add a size 11/0 seed bead. Than push your needle through the next 4mm pearl bead. Repeat this pattern all the way around. Push the needle through the first seed bead you added. Pick up 4 pcs of 4mm pearls and push the needle through the 11/0 seed bead opposite to where the thread emerges. Keep repeating this pattern five more times.

  3. Add Teardrop Pearls: Once you've completed the bead pattern five times, incorporate a the teardrop pearl beads at the bottom to give the necklace a sophisticated, dangling effect. To do this, add 5 seed beads and push the needle through the seed after the pearl bead. Go all the way around the white pearl beads to the same spot you just added the 5 seed beads. Push the needle though the next three seed beads. Now you are ready to add the teardrop pearl. Add a teardrop pearl with a three seed bead in between (2 before + 1after) Push the needle back through the Teardrop pearl and the 2 pcs of seed beads. Add another 11/0 seed bead and push the needle through the seed bead 1 over from the hanging section starting point. (push the needle through the next three seed beads.

  4. Continue the Second Bead Row: When the centerpiece is done, repeat the same beading pattern as the first row to complete the second side of the necklace now.  Once complete secure the ends of the thread by tying a firm knot several times around the design in between the pearls. You can also add a dab of clear glue for extra security. Trim the excess thread.

Step 3: Attach the Chain

  1. Attach Jump Rings: Using your jewelry pliers, attach a jump ring to each end of the beaded necklace.

  2. Add the Gold Chain: Measure your gold chain so that when combined with the beaded section, the total necklace length is about 16-18 inches (or to your preferred length). Attach the chain to the jump rings on each side of the centerpiece.

  3. Add the Clasp and Chain Extender: At one end of the chain, attach the clasp using another jump ring. On the opposite end, attach a chain extender so the length of the necklace can be adjusted.

  4. Beaded Necklace Design Ready: The necklace is now complete and ready to be worn.

Step 4: Make Matching Earrings

  1. Prepare the Beads: For each earring, you'll need a combination of gold 11/0 seed beads, 4 pcs of 4mm pearls, 2 pcs teardrop pearls, and 2pcs of stainless steel gold earring hooks.

  2. Create the Earring Dangle: Thread a pattern similar to the necklace centerpiece onto a short piece of beading thread. Start with 4pcs of 4mm pearls and tie a knot. Add the size 11/0 seed beads all the way around in between the 4mm pearls. Than add then 5 seed beads at the bottom section and the top section.. Attach a teardrop pearl at the bottom for an elegant finish.

  3. Attach to the Earring Hook: Add 3 pcs of seed beads at the top of the beading pattern. Than start forming a knot to secure the earrings. Cut off excess thread. Use your jewelry pliers to open the loop at the base of the earring hook. Attach the beaded strand to the hook, then securely close the loop.

Step 5: Final Touches

Before wearing your new handmade jewelry, make sure all knots are secure, beads are firmly in place, and no thread or wire is visible. You can use jewelry glue for added durability. Once you're happy with the final product, your necklace and matching earrings are ready to show off!

Tips for Beginners:

  • Choose your colors: While this tutorial uses gold seed beads and pearls for an elegant look, feel free to experiment with other colors for a fun twist!
  • Work slowly: Take your time to ensure each bead is securely in place and that your knots are tight.
